Doing it with style

Welcome to my Comments Pages

Please note. I get a few hundred emails a week from visitors asking for help, or posing questions on how to modify my demos to suit their application and I read them all. Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of time to spend answering these questions.

So if I do not reply, please do not be offended, and if I do reply then you are one of the lucky ones.

If you are asking for permission to use any of my demonstration then please email me with your request stu{at}

Is it possible to get closable css pop-up with overlay on page load?

No, I do not see how this would work. You would need to use a clickable link to close the popup overlay but if you then made another click on the page then the popup would re-appear.

So what can you advise? I tried some jquery and other scripts but they are disrupting other scripts used on the website... In other words, I need some ultralight script or so. Thank in advance for your help.

It should be possible to do with jQuery without affecting other scripts.

I find that facebook like iframe shows through this as a black box for the entire iframe size of the facebook like iframe. I have tried several z-index tricks, wrapping the iframe in a div and altering both z-indexes through css, but it shows through regardless.

Do you have any suggestions at all? I may be overlooking something. I know that it is possible to sort with javascript, but I am making the site javascript free, so that is not an option.

Moving the like iframe is not an option at present either, but worst case scenario it can come off altogether.

Extremely ignorant of me, great site, full of useful scripts, I have altered 2 so far that have made life so much easier. So much so, if they had been pay scripts I would have happily paid for them!

Thank you.
