Looking at your dropdown/flyout menu suitable for the iPad
I realized that it's not a CSS trick that makes it suitable for the ipad but this javascript line at the top of your menu.

This is far simpler that any CSS trick.
As no-one switches off javascript on these devices it is not a problem to use this method.
This also then allow taps (hovers/clicks) on any element.

Great click menus.
I was trying on the android samsung phone. The menus does not work as expected.

Lots of Android devices do not support the styles necessary for multi-level menus.
It is impossible to test on every devoce.
I do have a Kindle Fire which is an Android device and the menu works on this.
