Please note. I get a few hundred emails a week from visitors asking for help, or posing questions on how to modify my demos to suit their application and I read them all. Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of time to spend answering these questions.

So if I do not reply, please do not be offended, and if I do reply then you are one of the lucky ones.

If you are asking for permission to use any of my demonstration then please email me with your request stu{at}

Martin, yours are the normal rectangular ones that hover outside of the image area. Mine only operate by hovering within the area bounded by the white border.

Ah I see what you mean. IMO most people wouldnt notice that. Do you know how to make the tabs symmetrical like mine but hover like yours?

Martin, symmetrical tabs are just an extension of this idea and can be done. Also mine work as they should when 'tabbing' through the menu in IE and Firefox.

Stu, I must admit that I am impressed with what you've come up with. It would be nice if you made an example of symmetrical overlapping tabs using your system. :-)

For some reason the selected tabs don't change when I click on them. Why won't they change?

Thanks for the great information; I have learned a lot from you Stu.

Thanks heaps for this menu, I really like it and am trying it out on a site I am developing. I was just wondering if it is possible to "hide" some of the tabs from unauthorised visitors, e.g. an admin tab that only appears when administrator is logged in - I have made it in the web config so only administrators can access the admin page, but would be nice for the tab not to show at all (only to administrator) by linking it into the site map somehow, my site uses roles, etc, I hope you can help, thanks again,
