Transparent borders COMMENTS

Welcome to my Comments Pages

Please note. I get a few hundred emails a week from visitors asking for help, or posing questions on how to modify my demos to suit their application and I read them all. Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of time to spend answering these questions.

So if I do not reply, please do not be offended, and if I do reply then you are one of the lucky ones.

If you are asking for permission to use any of my demonstration then please email me with your request stu{at}cssplay.co.uk.

Rod:-
Maybe you don't know but with IE6, transparent border even with your hack ... doesn't work. All I see is black. However I have found an use with Internet Explorer 7. With "CSS FRAMES". Actually, the only way is to add a border-bottom and border-top where FF needs only a bottom and a height. With transparent borders, you can now have a "transparent" layout, perfect if you put your CSS frame with a graphic background.

I'm running a IE6.0 standalone, and the borders are black, too, i'm afraid, while for every other browser I tested with they're transparent.

Stu:-
mike, if the standalone version of IE6 is running on the same PC as IE7 then as far as conditional comments go, it thinks that it is IE7. So your version is not seeing the conditional comments for IE6.

John Gunther:-
Your demo works for me using the free Virtual PC + IE6 bundle MS provides on their web site. Thanks!
