filing cabinet COMMENTS

Welcome to my Comments Pages

Please note. I get a few hundred emails a week from visitors asking for help, or posing questions on how to modify my demos to suit their application and I read them all. Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of time to spend answering these questions.

So if I do not reply, please do not be offended, and if I do reply then you are one of the lucky ones.

If you are asking for permission to use any of my demonstration then please email me with your request stu{at}

Thank you Vasilij, it has taken a little while to get here but I am now pleased with the site. It is now, hopefully, available to more browsers, easier to navigate and faster loading.

I've learned more from your stuff than all other sources combined. I can't get IE hover to perform without using bkgnd image (as in "a dog's life") for a day planner app. Must be a way but I've been trying for days - such neat stuff tho - thanks for sharing.

Hi Ed, there are quite a few alternatives that trigger :hover in IE. whitespace:normal; height:auto; text-indent:0; float:none; are four of the most useful.

Chris Hunt:-
What do you mean by "trigger :hover in IE"?

Chris, this is an IE bug whereby in many case :hover does not work as expected. See

. IE need a 'trigger' to make it work.

Adam Burmister:-
There's an interesting behaviour with this example. If you click on a menu item so it's in a focused state, then use your scroll wheel (at least with firefox) the text of the popup receipy scrolls.

A firefox bug. This has happened on other examples where span text appears on hover.

When positioning the cursor in the upper half of the 'filing cabinet' area itself - the blue part, that is - the appropriate menu appears and moving the cursor in that area initiates an unpleasant flicker effect showing and hiding the 'menu' very rapidly.
This is in no way criticism, because I suspect it may well have to do with my setup : OS X 10.3.9, Safari 1.3 (v312).
Amazing demonstrations though, your site is truly an inspiration !
