flyout transparent menu COMMENTS

Welcome to my Comments Pages

Please note. I get a few hundred emails a week from visitors asking for help, or posing questions on how to modify my demos to suit their application and I read them all. Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of time to spend answering these questions.

So if I do not reply, please do not be offended, and if I do reply then you are one of the lucky ones.

If you are asking for permission to use any of my demonstration then please email me with your request stu{at}cssplay.co.uk.

Stu: VERY cool...I'm wondering: would it be possible to construct vertical drop down menus off the horizontal submenus?

Stu:-
Todd, that would also be possible.

Todd, You've got it...see the next demo.

Stu,

This is fantastic. And almost what I'm looking for, which is a horizontal menu that raises a submenu above itself, either horizontally or vertically.

SO ... Would it be possible to combine the transparency of this menu with either the cross browser pull-up cascading validating menu or the cross browser drop line cascading validating menu (but with the sub-menu being a line above the main menu)?

I know it's a lot to ask but I reckon you've got it in you!

Stu: I was just WONDERING about the following demo...wasn't actually asking you to do it!! Thank you ever so much for all your continued "pushing of the envelope!"

Just wanted to say thanks so much for liberating us all from the tyranny of the Javascript-driven DOM and the table, your site is a revelation. I've been coding professionally in HTML since 1996, and can confidently say your site has had as much of an impact on my ability to support great design as Flash, and oh so much more elegantly. When are you publishing a book !? I want to buy it - can I help get it published!!? Many many thanks.

Just wanted to say how amazing this site is, especially the css switcher.
This has opened my eyes to the world of css.
Cheers

Dear Stu,

I'm interested in using your flyout transparent menu but i faced problem with IE 6.

When i run the webpage, the IE will prompt
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..."

How do i get rid of this message? I newbies to standard compliance !doctype.

Extreme nice and cool website! Many thanks for your ideas and code! :-)

Your TRANSPARENCY FLYOUT menu, is sublime!

BUT:
1: How can we make the menu vertical?
2: How can we put a sub-menu on the menu?

I think, many people are looking for such a menu, if you can adjust the menu to do just that... ;-)

Stu:-
Flemming Jensen, the next menu shows a sub menu, all you need is to add the transparency. There is also a vertival drop menu with transparency on this site.

In IE6 You are using IEs transparancy filter. Am I right that both text and background are made transparant with this filter or is there a way to make the background transparant and the text as black as normal?

What code needs to be altered so that the sub menus are vertical instead of horizontal?

Excellent Piece of work! I tried others, but they... sucked.

Is there any way to "change" the background with the hover? Maybe by displaying a part of another image over the bg? I've done this before, but not with <li>.

Again, very clever design!
