Doing it with style

link images COMMENTS

Welcome to my Comments Pages

Please note. I get a few hundred emails a week from visitors asking for help, or posing questions on how to modify my demos to suit their application and I read them all. Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of time to spend answering these questions.

So if I do not reply, please do not be offended, and if I do reply then you are one of the lucky ones.

If you are asking for permission to use any of my demonstration then please email me with your request stu{at}cssplay.co.uk.

"the popup box no longer appears"... when using internet explorer 6.

Micheal, have you kept the change of background color on hover. If you have removed this then try adding border:1px solid #eee; to the a:hover style.
It is necessary to change 'something' on hover to trigger 'extras' in IE.

Many thanks Stu, that works perfectly fine. To keep the theme, the border changes to 111 instead of 000.

Learning far more via this site than any css tutorials anywhere else, and a lot of these demonstrations you give ensure flash isn't required on sites as well. So many thanks for all your time on this site - it's invaluable to many.

Hi Stu,
Is it possible to use this (BTW grrreat!) menu but instead of opening an image open a piece of text?

I am toying with the idea of hover on a box -> open box with text (from a ssi?) and if they like it click to go to full linked page.

Thanks a real lot!

Hi Stu,

I did a bit of play with the boxes and came up with a model that fits a navigation sidebar. It works nicely except for one thing: when I applied opacity, it works only in FF but not in IE. With opacity "on" the <span> do not show outside the sidebar in IE, however they do if no opacity. If you would like to take a look it is in there www.breakfastonthebeach.org/navigation.html

Thanks a real lot!
