Using CSS3 to produce a bookcase menu using no graphics. When viewed in Firefox, Safar and Chrome you will see a 3D effect with background gradient colors and shadow. Opera will see the drop shadows but not the gradient backgrounds and IE will not see the shadows or gradient background.

Hover over any of the books to remove it from the shelf and show the closed cover. Hover the cover to open the book and reveal the contents.

The animation will be seen in Firefox v4 beta, Safari, Chrome and Opera. Firefox v4 and Opera are a little jerky with the animaton, but Safari and Chrome are very smooth.

Tested in IE7, IE8, IE9, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Chrome. It should also work in Mac browsers.
