Information

It has been a long time since I investigated the use of a definition list to produce a dropdown menu, so I thought that I would look at what is now possible with the latest CSS specifications.

So this menu just uses definition lists for each list item and works in all modern browsers (back as far as IE7) and has the top level items centered on the page and the dropdown sub menus can be left or right aligned with the top level items.

I have also added my method of allowing multi level menus to work on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch where a single tap of a top level link will open the sub menu and a second tap will go to that link page. When a sub menu is open then tapping anywhere outside of the menu will clost the sub menu.
