Information
Another method of producing a multi-level dropdown/flyout menu that works on touch screen devices including the iPad, IE10 and Android OS browsers.
This one uses top level 'parent' links that are used to open sub menus and also take you to other linked pages.
On the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, IE10 touch screen and Android OS touch screen browsers just tap the top level 'parent link' with down arrows to open the sub menu, the parent link then becomes underlined to show that it is a link and the arrow changes to point right (or left). Tapping this 'parent link' again will take you to the link page.
IE10 has a slightly different way of handling this. Tap the 'parent link' to open the sub menu, then tap the parent link twice to open the link.
Code updated to allow IE10 to work in the same way as other touch screen browsers.
All other non touch screen browsers will work in the normal way when hovering the links.
There is animation, fade in/out on the sub menus, curved corners, drop shadows and gradient fills for those browsers that support these styles.
